Liz Harris was raised in Houston, Texas to parents who cultivated a love of nature, people, and art, showing the beauty to be found therein. She grew up drawing, painting and visiting museums with her father to enjoy, learn from and discuss the art they contain. Liz is primarily a figure painter who has branched out into landscapes and still life of late. She strives to show the beauty inherent in life, even in difficult situations and times. She is mostly self taught having completed a mentorship with Casey Childs. Liz has earned several local, national and international awards for her work and continues to increase her skills through painting and drawing from life. She is on the faculty for the Portrait Society of America, serves on the Aly Jenkins Memorial Scholarship Fund board and her Portrait lessons can be found on SentientAcademy.org. Her work is found in various publications including Art Renewal Center Book of Finalists, International Artist Magazine, and Best of Drawing Magazine. She currently lives in Utah County with her husband and two dogs, and are the parents of four children.
